Peaceful Rest Stone Care was founded from a deeply personal experience and a passion for helping families honor the memory of their loved ones.
In 1998, after retiring from representing the United States in national and international competition, Darrell Sullins Sr. faced one of the most difficult decisions of his life. He was forced to make the heartbreaking choice to remove his mother, Loretta, from the life support system that had been sustaining her life. For years afterward, he struggled with the weight of that decision, often asking himself, "Should I have given her more time before making that decision?"
The emotional burden made it difficult for Darrell to visit his mother's final resting place. Years later, after experiencing a similar situation with another family member, he found the strength to return. What he discovered was painful. Without consistent care and maintenance, his mother's gravestone and memorial site had become weathered and neglected.
That experience inspired the creation of Peaceful Rest Stone Care.
Because of his firsthand journey through grief, loss, and remembrance, Darrell offers something unique to his clients: a genuine understanding of the emotional connection families has with their loved ones' resting places. He understands that honoring a loved one should be about reflection, remembrance, and peace, not worrying about the physical labor required to maintain a memorial site.
